As August comes to an end so does Black Business Month but why does it have to be only a month? We can support black-owned businesses as we do any other business all year round. Feeling the Fashion
Earlier in my legal career, I was all about professional attire — suited up, dressed up, designer clothes — lots of dry cleaning. Later during the last few years as a corporate attorney, my fashion was slowly transformed into “business casual” which initially was an oxymoron to me but I slowly adjusted. Now that I am retired and living in Florida, my lifestyle is much more relaxed and fun even though I held on to a lot of the dresses and a few suits for occasions when they may be needed. I am adjusting to what is Florida casual but still with the style that I like. Even makeup can be difficult to pull off in this heat but I have always been comfortable au naturale or with minimal makeup. Don't get me wrong - there are still times when I glam it up with makeup and attire even when just stepping out to shop. Whether you shop at Target or Saks, Marshalls or Bloomingdales, DSW or Jimmy Choo – it's not about the cost, it’s about how it makes you look and feel to be the best you! In this section I want to share with you some looks that work for me and may give you ideas as well. I'm just feeling the fashion!

Her factory is located in the heart of the LA Fashion District and each garment is creative, chic, classic and timeless. I was excited when these pieces arrived! Check out her website www.shopfksp.com. Martini Round Swing Skirt “Lemon Drop”… Read More

It’s all pieces I have had in my closet for years. Just add… Read More
I have often spoken about a young woman named Chiddy who has been a mentee of mine for what seems like forever. Not only are we very close but I have been close to her family in Nigeria as well for all these many years. Not too long ago I sent Chiddy several of my shirts to share with her… Read More
I love this dress! It can be worn casual or dressed up fancy. Technically the material is 100% recycled nylon but to me it feels like a parachute and the way it catches the breeze and swirls around you makes you feel as if you are floating on air! Wait for it – the best part? It has pockets! Dress… Read More
At a photo shoot last week, I had a wonderful day of modeling great fashion once again at Dream Weaver Collection located in St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, Florida. They were having a trunk show featuring clothes by La Bottega di Brunella in Positano, Italy and jewelry from by Dede Dohrer Design. Relaxed, easy to care for yet very… Read More
