I am always looking for another dish to make with my favorite ingredient – mushrooms! This time it is a mushroom galette. A mushroom, asparagus, and golden beet galette. I saw this being made on the Food Network and adapted it for my tastes. Here is how I did it but please feel free to make it your own. Start by… Read More
Discovering Me! Discovering You!
In this category, I think it is important for you to know something about me such as who I am, what has been my journey and how I made the decision to start this blog. I want to share the journey I have traveled so far and how I came to be the me that I know and love today. I find it extremely exciting and invigorating to meet other women and learn their stories. This section will share the stories of our lives – not just mine. It is not that I think my life’s story has been so different than millions of other women out there but it may be just different enough that someone will read it and find comfort or inspiration in the “sameness” or just see it as inspiration to look at your own journey and how you became the wonderful you that you are today. I hope that other women want to share their stories as well.
Each day is a new opportunity to learn something new. It can be a new word, a new recipe, a new language – every day in every way we are learning. Maybe we are coping with the loss of a job or a loved one, dealing with a serious illness, helping our children or something that impacts the way our lives used to be and is now forcing us to learn to make the most of our lives as they are in our new reality. Maybe we have entered a new phase of life like retirement, parenthood, returning to school to pursue another degree, taking a dance class or swim lessons. Every day in every way we can learn and embrace something new. Together we can keep learning!
To be “it” you have to be able to see “it” so let’s make sure they see “it” in you.” You never know who is watching you and who can learn from your experiences. Sharing the journey we are making and the things we learned along the way is something we must all do. It costs nothing but pays us… Read More
I felt very creative going for the casual date night dinner. I had been buying mushrooms and needed to use them. First thought was a mushroom burger – but that seemed so ordinary. Why not a mushroom meatloaf? Why not mini-mushroom meatloaves? So, after looking for recipes, I came up with one of my own. First step, I preheated oven… Read More
Yes, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner again. I am not sure there is another holiday that pulls out so many different feelings in people. Why should we be compelled to declare our love simply because someone wants to sell greeting cards? Have I known this person long enough to buy them a Valentine’s gift? What are our own… Read More
While we wait, life happens all around us. Even in a pandemic, it goes on in some way. We can watch other people being happy. We can watch other people being successful. We can watch other people have the lives we wish we could have while we are waiting and hoping it will just happen. But nothing will change unless… Read More
I want to quote a line from the inauguration poem “The Hill We Climb” written and recited so eloquently by the amazing first National Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman, who urged us to rise to meet the occasion with the words “We do not feel prepared to be the heirs of such a terrifying hour; but within it we found… Read More
